He felt the water hitting him like knives hitting his body at a million miles per hour. The stinging made him cringe, but he needed to cool his body down, and its not like he had a tub of ice to lie in. That would feel even worse. He took in deep breaths, as he gripped the side of the bathtub with both hands, groaning softly as he brought his hands, which felt like they had bricks tied to them up to his face to bring the water onto his forehead. How the hell did he get so sick in a matter of minutes?
It wasn’t like he never wore a coat, or ate, hell, thats all he did was eat. Maybe not as healthy as he should, but nonetheless, he was never starved. He didn’t even want to move from the tub. Eventually the water had felt normal-ish, as he turned his head to watch Suou rush, and scramble out of the house with Mao. July was in the other room, and he knew Suou had told him the simple instruction, that he would just stay there, and keep an eye on her while she was out.
This wasn’t like him, to be this sick. Sure, he’d had colds, and what not, but regardless, none this bad. He felt like he was going o retch again, and with that, he turned over the side of the tub forcefully, and let it out. All over the floor, “Oh god.” he mumbled, after he’d finished. Suou wasn’t going to be happy about that. She’d have to clean it up before he got what he’d asked for, and for him to even get out. He painfully leaned over to turn the water off, finally glad to be shivering.
How long had Suou been gone…? Oh, right..Only a few minutes. To Hei, it felt like an eternity.
She was frantic of course. Just a little girl worried for the sake of her caretaker, her teacher, a guy she was ashamed to hate and love at the same time. She was able to gather everything on his list quickly and pay for it without a second of hesitation. The clerk thought she was rude because of her rush but that didn’t really matter, she’d give him gloomy stares and cold shoulders later, she just needed to get everything back to Hei before he died or something.
Oh god, what if he died?!
Just that thought made the red head run faster. She snatched up the little flying squirel known as Mao, and quickly made her way back. She avoided walkers, bike riders, ran across the street dodging cars with her superior skills compared to regular people. She was careful not to drop anything on her way either.
When she returned to the scene, she set everything down on the counter and came back around into the bathroom. “What do you want firs—” She stopped and slapped a hand over her mouth for a moment, noticing he’d made a mess near the tub. She cringed and turned her body away slightly, her green eyes shifting over to where July sat in the other room. “I-I’ll clean that up first though,” She mumbled.
“Sorry for taking too long…”
